Homemade Jewelry Cleaner
Hello loves,
As I mentioned before I am very conscious of the food my family eats as well as the other household items we use. I try to make sure everything is as safe + healthy as possible for our Sweet Baby Summer. With that being said, my wedding ring hasn't been cleaned since I got it over 2 years ago! And a trip to the jeweler (where we bought it from) is quite the excursion from our new house these days, especially with a baby (who hates being in the carseat)! It makes me sad when my once sparkly shiny jewelry starts looking so dull + dirty. It's a total mood changer for me to have clean sparkly jewelry, especially the ones I wear everyday- like my wedding ring! So I decided why not try to make my own jewelry cleaner? I researched and tested different ways to clean our jewelry at home and I have to say I am very impressed with my little concoction.

- First, line a glass bowl with a piece of aluminum foil, shiny side up.
- Place your dull and dirty jewelry on top of the foil. I did both silver and white gold jewelry.
- Pour hot boiling water on top. I boiled water in a kettle and poured it over.
- Then add a teaspoon of bleach free powdered laundry detergent. I used Molly Suds.
- The mixture will start boiling and steaming and you can watch the dirt + debris melt away. The aluminum and hot water will clean your jewelry using a process called ionization.
- Let mixture soak and do it's thing for about 30mins.
- Then brush with baking soda and rinse with clean water.
- Dry with a jewelry cleaning cloth.
